First of all, I am definitely very happy that my Mind Power blogs are helping so many people. I pray that everyone can find peace of mind and true happiness in their heart with what they have in their life. Being content is the greatest gift you can give to yourself.
Today’s blog is going to be about meditation because many comments have pointed towards it.
Why meditation, right?
I want you to take a pause right now. Stop what you are doing. Just sit back and think, when was the last time you felt “Elevated.” Without the drugs of course 😛
I am talking about that moment when you were not in a hurry to go somewhere, to be somewhere. A moment when you were only you and not someone somebody else wanted you to be. The moment when you didn’t bother to check your mobile for any social update as if one second delay would cause a nuclear world war. A moment when you didn’t worry about cooking, or assignments, or projects or love, or family or money.
A MOMENT WHEN YOU WERE JUST BY YOURSELF AND YOU WERE CALM, HAPPY AND AT EASE.
Non of us can remember that time because we have become robots in the hands of time, time which we do not have enough of. Everyday, we are trying to run as fast as we can. Running behind work, money, happiness, family, friends, love and what not.
Meditation gives you that moment. My experience of meditation cannot truly be explained in words. I felt like I was above the ground. Floating in the clouds. I had nothing to worry about. I was not running. I was absolutely CALM. My body was relaxing. My mind was full of peace and my heart felt that sudden warmth of contentment.
Now, personally, I am a type of person who cannot just sit in one place doing nothing which makes meditation all the more a tough task for me. I want something quick, easy and fruitful. If only there was an app for that haha 🙂
I read many books on meditation and I loved one method the most. It helped me focus, was simple and did not bore me at all. And I would like to share that method with you all to help you reach that state of mind so you can experience the same contentment that I did.
This is a 7 week program. And after these 7 weeks, you will be so trained and in control of your mind that you will be able to reach your ALPHA stage of mind within 10 seconds.
Step 1 : Find a spot & perfect time.
Find a place that you feel good about. That one place in the house that clicks in your heart. That makes you say, “yes this is it.” You can choose if you want this place to be in a sunlit area or a dark place. Under the open sky or in your basement. It just has to be the place that you like best.
My personal choice? I like a place that has very dim light ( I am scared of the dark anyway). If it’s night, I switch on the night bulb. If it’s day time, I let the sun light penetrate through the curtains giving me a very dim lighted room. A romantic kind of atmosphere because let’s be honest, I am a very romantic kind of a girl. (HEAR THAT MR. FUTURE HUSBAND. YOU BETTER START FEELING LUCKY).
As for the time. You need a time of quiet. No traffic horns and no kids cry. If you are in a traffic based area, choose the night time. If you are a mother, choose a time when your kids go to school.
Step 2 : The meditation method.
Sit in your favorite spot with your legs crossed. Relax yourself. Close your eyes. Now count backwards from 100 and work on deep breathing. Inhale and exhale as you count backwards.
Counting backwards will focus your mind on one thing and will stop your mind from distractions.
With every count, relax yourself further.
Week one : Count backwards from 100.
Week two : Count backwards from 90.
Week three : Count backwards from 80.
Week four : Count backwards from 70
Week five : Count backwards from 50
Week six : Count backwards from 30
Week seven : Count backwards from 10.
Step 3 : Reaching 0 – The point of elevation. Alpha Stage Of Mind
When you reach 0, you will feel circles of energy, or you will feel like you are in a dream state or in a sleep state. That’s when you will know that you have reached your point of elevation. This is Alpha stage of mind.
You can either just enjoy that moment of purity or you can chant holy verses or your own mantras. My personal favorite is chanting “Everyday in everyway I am getting better, better and better.” These words have got so much power and they have everything in it.
While chanting this phrase, my mind automatically focuses on the word ” in every way”, i.e I am getting better in every way be it love, money, health, mind powers, super powers etc.
Sometimes I chant things that I want to achieve. Like I say I have beautiful hair, glowing skin, perfect smile etc etc etc.
Step 4 : Ending your meditation.
Before opening your eyes say these words. You can have your own words, whatever you want to say. This is just a rough idea of what you should be saying,
“I will now count backwards from 10 and when I reach 0 and open my eyes, I will continue to feel amazing, awesome, better and happy.”
Then count backwards from 10 and open your eyes when you reach 0.
Step 5 : SMILE
When you open your eyes, take a very deep breath and SMILE as wide as you can. And when you smile, I want you to come back to this blog, and share that moment when you smiled and felt that warmth and happiness in your heart because I am sure that feeling which you will have will be very special.
