When Aisha Cooks – How To Make Oatmeal Custard **My Style**

Messy Dirty Rustic Kitchen

So welcome everyone to yet another episode of “When Aisha Cooks.” Last time on this show you saw When Aisha Cooks : My Pancake Recipe – Follow That If You Can,” If you saw that episode, you know what’s coming ahead. For all others, Good Luck 🙂

Today, I decided to make Oatmeal Custard. It’s the easiest and quickest dessert you can make, all you have to do is make custard, add oats and you are done, but When Aisha Cooks, there is more than just cooking.

Let me show you how to make Oatmeal Custard like I do.

Take a saucepan, fill it up with 3 cups of milk and put it on the stove to bring it to a boil. Go inside and watch “Two & A Half Men” as you wait for the milk to come to a boil. Go back to the kitchen to check on the milk.

Realize you did not switch on the stove so switch on the stove and wait again.

When the milk comes to a boil, add sugar to it. Mix. Now take about 3 tsp of custard powder in a cup, add water to it and mix. Turn around to put it in the milk.

Realize you did not reduce the stove flame so the milk has spilled on the stove.

Remove the saucepan ASAP from the stove, switch the stove off, take a cleaning cloth and clean the stove before THE MUMMY I mean mommy finds out. After you have cleaned the stove, wash the cleaning cloth.

Get drench in water because while you were washing the cleaning cloth, you spilled the water on your clothes (nothing new).

Do the Jungle Book dance as the water soaked clothes touch your body and tingle you.

Curse yourself for not wearing an apron.

Put the saucepan back on the stove, switch it on and pretend nothing happened.

Pour the custard mixture into the saucepan and mix immediately. Check consistency. Not enough. Mix 2 more tsp of Custard Power in water and add it into the saucepan. Mix again. Check consistency. Not enough. Mix 1 more tsp of Custard Powder in water and add it into the saucepan. Mix again. Check consistency. Perfect.

Add a few tbsp of oats into the custard, mix and wait for a few minutes before you turn the stove off.

Pour the Oatmeal Custard into a serving dish.

Wash all the used spoons, cups, bowls, trowels, drills, whisks, saw, hammer, guns, swords  etc that you used while cooking. Wash the saucepan you cooked in.

Get drenched in soapy oatmeal custard water because while you were washing the saucepan, half the water fell into the kitchen sink and the rest on your clothes.

Curse yourself again for not wearing the apron.

Clean all the water from the floor around the kitchen sink. Look around one more time in your kitchen for any evidences of MISHAPS and remove all traces.

AND THERE YOU ARE…. QUICK AND EASY OATMEAL CUSTARD IS READY…. SERVE WARM OR COLD…
Now you know Why Kitchen And I Can Never Be Friends

P.S : Don’t forget to change your clothes.

Do must topping with Ants Sprinkles.

                • You’l be surprised that I actually do sprinkles with a mix of ants, spiders, frog legs and beetles. The aroma of these 4 ingredients makes a very crunchy, sweet and slimy topping.

When are you coming home for dinner?

                  • Moiz Sheikh

A special award has come your way …. http://mindblur.wordpress.com/2012/10/23/the-booker-award/

    • My poor future husband in that case. He would come home from work, ask “Honey, What did you cook?” and soon as he peeps into the kitchen, he would be like, “Honey, on a second thought, why don’t you get ready. We’l have dinner outside.”

      Wow, perfect life 🙂

Oh thank you so much for the award. Just a bit caught up with stuff right now. Will get back to it. You made my day btw 🙂
