Welcome to an episode of “When Aisha cooks”
This segment is all about those times ( twice or thrice in an year), when I, Aisha, accidentally feel like making something.
It definitely is a rare moment for my family. Its fascinating. Like a 3 headed gorilla in a cage or a blind dolphin in a pool hitting every wall. I am sure they cherish the moment as much as I do, feeling absolutely different, perhaps like a wild sea fish put in a small jar of water.
Well, today I wanted to have some pancakes, So I said to myself, “If China can make duplicate iPhones, So can I.”
I googled the recipe and I will share my exact recipe with you. But the question is, Can you follow it?
Take 1 cup of plain flour taken from a newly opened packet and put in a bowl. Clean the flour that has dropped onto the floor while opening the packet. Next add 3/4 teaspoon of salt and 2 tablespoon of sugar.
Open the salt jar and the sugar jar again because you have put the wrong spoon in the wrong jar. After you have placed the right spoon in the right jar, add 2 teaspoons of baking soda. Mix all the dry ingredient using a whisk.
Did you use whisk like I said?
Good. Now clean up the entire table surrounding the bowl because you must have now messed up the powder all around the table. Next beat one egg in a separate bowl and then add it to your mixture. Whisk.
Add 1 1/2 cup of milk to the mixture. Whisk again. Run to the tissue and grab lots of tissue for the spilled milk on the table and the floor. Once you have cleaned all that, whisk again.
Let your mixture stay for an hour so that it can rise. Keep opening the lid every 5 mins to check if it has risen. If you did that, you will realize that opening the lid again and again does not make it rise.
After one hour, put a greased pan on medium high flame and pour generous amount on the pan. Clean the stove for the pancake batter you accidentally spilled. When one side is done, flip the pancake to make both sides golden.
Repeat the process of pouring batter on pan, cleaning the stove and flipping the pancake until you have made all the pancakes.
Enjoy with strawberry jam, honey or chocolate syrup.
